Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Welding Shop Foreman to lead and oversee daily operations within our welding and manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing welding processes, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This leadership role requires strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in manufacturing systems, and the ability to coordinate teams effectively to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate welding activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality specifications.
- Lead process improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitor supply chain logistics to ensure timely availability of materials and components for welding operations.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure weld integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on assembly processes, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process enhancements.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate welding personnel to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Maintain documentation related to production metrics, process changes, and compliance requirements.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a background in manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in process improvement methodologies including lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies.
- Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles relevant to manufacturing operations.
- Experience with quality control standards specific to welding and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with assembly procedures within a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills to motivate staff and drive operational excellence.
