About the St. Albert Seniors Association
The St. Albert Seniors Association (SASA) is a vibrant community centre and non-profit organization serving adults 50+ in St. Albert and the surrounding area. We are not a seniors’ residence or care facility.
Our busy centre offers a Bistro, programs, fitness and wellness activities, social events, rentals, and a growing calendar of special events and catering functions. With more than 100 people visiting our Centre on a typical day, SASA is a lively and welcoming place to work.
Our kitchen plays an important role in bringing people together — from daily Bistro service to large community events, private rentals, and catered functions.

You may be an experienced cook looking for a second job, someone transitioning from full-time kitchen work, or simply a great cook who wants a flexible schedule and opportunities to earn additional income.
What You'll Do
Working alongside our Kitchen Manager and kitchen team, you will:
- Prepare and cook meals for our Bistro, programs, events, and catering functions.
- Assist with preparation and execution of evening and weekend events.
- Prepare food according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Assist with plating, serving, and event food service when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen.
- Follow proper food-handling and sanitation procedures.
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
- Provide guidance to volunteers during events when needed.
- Assist with kitchen opening, closing, and clean-up duties.
- Help ensure events and catering functions run smoothly from a kitchen perspective.
The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a commercial or professional kitchen.
- Is confident preparing food independently.
- Takes pride in producing quality food.
- Is organized, dependable, and able to work efficiently during busy periods.
- Works well with staff and volunteers.
- Has a positive and respectful attitude.
- Understands the importance of food safety and cleanliness.
- Is available to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and catering.
Food Safety Certification is an asset.
