Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Talent Recruiter/Acquisition to lead our talent sourcing and recruitment initiatives. The Senior Talent Recruiter/Acquisition provides dedicated recruitment leadership to strengthen RNS Health Care Services’ talent pipeline, with a focus on PSWs, field-based positions, and corporate roles. The position is responsible for developing proactive recruitment strategies, building external partnerships, managing candidate pipelines, and guiding the Talent Acquisition team in delivering timely, high-quality hires.
The role provides day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to the recruitment team to ensure consistent, effective, and timely hiring practices.
In addition, the position leads and supports initiatives related to employee onboarding, learning and development, talent growth, and ongoing workforce development, helping to build a strong and engaged workforce aligned with RNS Health Care Services’ organizational needs and goals.
The role also serves as a sales and brand ambassador for RNS, promoting the organization as an employer of choice and supporting recruitment marketing initiatives in partnership with the Marketing team.
Recruitment Strategy & Sourcing
- Develop and execute proactive recruitment strategies for PSWs, field-based, and corporate positions.
- Build and maintain active candidate pipelines to support current and anticipated workforce needs.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, professional networks, agencies, community partnerships, and direct outreach.
- Proactively engage qualified candidates through social media and other recruitment channels.
Candidate Management
- Lead candidate screening, initial interviews, and assessment activities.
- Manage candidate pipelines and ensure timely follow-up throughout the recruitment process.
- Support hiring managers with candidate recommendations and recruitment guidance.
- Identify opportunities to improve candidate experience and recruitment outcomes.
Community & Employer Outreach
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, career centers, community organizations, and employment networks.
- Represent RNS at job fairs, career events, community events, and other recruitment initiatives.
- Promote RNS as an employer of choice and strengthen awareness of career opportunities within the organization.
Recruitment Marketing & Employer Brand
- Develop recruitment-focused communications and social media content in partnership with the Marketing, Brand & Communications team.
- Support recruitment campaigns, job fair materials, and employer branding initiatives.
- Ensure recruitment communications consistently reflect RNS’s values, culture, and employer brand.
Recruitment Performance & Team Support
- Monitor recruitment metrics, vacancies, time-to-fill, pipelines, and hiring outcomes.
- Identify trends and implement strategies to improve recruitment quality, efficiency, and retention.
- Coach and train the Talent Acquisition team on effective sourcing, screening, and candidate assessment.
- Standardize recruitment practices, tools, and processes.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to identify opportunities to improve retention.
Learning & Development
- Oversee learning & development programs and initiatives
- Identify organizational training needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
- Maintain awareness of employment trends and emerging talent development strategies.
- Collaborate with HR and Leadership on projects that support employee retention, engagement, and organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition/recruitment, with experience in a high-volume recruitment environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing leadership, coaching, mentorship, or supervision to recruitment or HR team members.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies, talent pipelines, sourcing initiatives, and employer-branding activities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading Learning & Development initiatives, including onboarding, orientation, training, employee development, and skills development programs.
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment, candidate assessment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding practices.
- Experience using HRIS, applicant tracking systems, recruitment platforms, and learning management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, facilitation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to use recruitment and workforce data to identify trends and improve outcomes.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- CHRP designation, or active progress toward designation, is considered an asset.
- Experience in healthcare, community care, or a unionized environment is considered an asset.
