We’re looking for a hungry, curious, big-idea-driven community-focused marketer to join our team. The Photographer will act as an integral member of the Roots Marketing team. This individual will be responsible for all off figure ecommerce photography and studio scheduling. You will also help generate other pieces of branded content as required. You are an adaptable team player with experience shooting for ecommerce as well as other still and motion projects. You have a keen eye for detail and have also worked alongside stylists, models and post production teams. In additional to your photography skill set, you are extremely organized and have the ability to run a fast-paced internal studio.

To be successful, you’ll need to possess:
  • 3-5 years in a similar role
  • Passion for art, design, fashion and the creative industries
  • Strong experience with lighting/studio set ups and propping
  • Strong experience with camera fundamentals
  • Experience with videography, motion editing, photo retouching
  • Strong experience working on brand identity, graphic and print production
  • Excel at image curation, composition and visual storytelling
  • Meticulous when it comes to the details
  • Highly organized, responsive and respectful of deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize, project manage and plan ahead
  • Aptitude to function within deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience scheduling people and projects
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple people and projects at once
  • Great team player who enjoys the studio environment
  • High technical proficiency with Canon, Photoshop, Capture One, Bridge and Mac computers a must; ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and improving department processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, self sufficient and detail oriented

This is an opportunity to shape our company’s future by:
  • Lead off figure photography and editing for Roots and
  • Maintain and develop product image catalogue.
  • Manage studio schedule (including all on and off figure photography).
  • Ensure assets developed adhere to ecommerce creative direction and brand guidelines.
  • Assist in the execution of campaign photography when required.
  • Maintain studio and all equipment.
  • With the direction of the team, book freelance talent when required.
  • When required, shoot and edit motion for special marketing projects.
  • Drive efficiencies across the studio (ensuring the team is as efficient and effective as possible).
  • Understand the competitive landscape and keep abreast of relevant equipment and technologies.
  • Collaborate across the marketing team to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and juggle various priority projects at once.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with a high degree of collaboration.
  • Demonstrate relentlessly high standards, fostering passion, integrity and energy.
  • Work in the studio under direction of Creative Manager, independently and alongside stylists, taking digital images of products and with studio and equipment maintenance
  • Primarily photograph ecommerce products on-figure with the ability to shoot on mannequin and tabletop when needed
  • To Responsible for accurate completion of shot lists, file naming, processing and organization of digital files
  • Upload digital files to all correct channels on a daily basis
  • Ensure daily workload is completed within SLA – Raise red flags when in jeopardy, working with Photography Manager to resolve
  • Partner with managers, JR Photographer, Product Coordinator and Sample Manager to ensure production expectations are met
  • Proactively identify challenges in workflow or process and use critical thinking to provide Creative Manager with potential solutions
  • Comfortable with video capture devices and 360 capture devices
