Spartan is seeking an exceptional Manufacturing Engineer to help us bring the power of DNA testing to everyone. As our Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll enjoy multi-disciplinary work, and you’ll have an endless hunger for knowledge, learning, and growth. Through the design and implementation of new processes and procedures, you will optimise the performance of workflows and help to integrate reliable and robust techniques. As a self-motivated and organized individual, you’ll have a keen eye for detail and pride yourself on excellent time management. We’re a fast growing company, so we need people who are going to roll-up their sleeves and make things happen.
What we are looking for from you:
Design new equipment, processes, procedures and systems for both assembly and inventory control
Drive equipment upgrades and improvements to reduce process time and/or increase product quality
Respond to and investigate machine and product failures
Equipment and process operating procedure, maintenance and calibration creation
Perform new tool and component process verifications/validations as required
Develop process improvements to assure or improve product quality and reliability
Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality or performance
Prepare layouts, drawings, or sketches of machinery or equipment, such as shop tooling, scale layouts, or new equipment design, using drafting equipment or computer-aided design (CAD) software
Coordinate equipment purchases, installations, or transfers. Purchase materials, equipment, or other resources as required
Conduct equipment start-up, characterization, qualification, release, and commissioning
Work with production management to schedule maintenance of equipment to limit production disruption
Oversee and train production engineering technicians to ensure compliance to equipment maintenance and calibration requirements
Develop tools for manufacturing metric tracking and trending
You ideally have:
A degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering with 3+ years experience in a production-based environment
Successfully delivered high quality results in a process-oriented (ISO certified) industrial manufacturing environment. You understand what great looks like
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in troubleshooting unstable processes. You relish the opportunity to problem-solve
Experience using Solid works or equivalent Cad modelling software
ISO13485 experience (asset)
Knowledge of six-sigma and GMP (asset)
Experience using Epicor or related ERP system (asset)
