THE POSITION (estimated 16 hours per month)
We are looking for an additional, enthusiastic and talented singer (with a voice considered to be in the bass to tenor range) to complete our team of performing assistants for Victoria's unique, REACH! All Abilities Performing Co. Our performing assistants are often soloists in our shows, and they assist other members in the group during rehearsals and performances. This position will also include assisting with sound set up and mixing for our twice monthly All-Abilities, All Ages Open Mic Coffee House sessions in Victoria.
ABOUT THE REACH! PERFORMING CO.
About half of this 50 member group have a significant disability. The others are members of the community who love music and people, including some very seasoned performers. Songs are primarily popular styles with uplifting messages and often include sign language (taught/learned for each song) and simple choreography. Rehearsals are joyful, and our shows and performances are truly amazing.
Rehearsals are 6:15-8:15 p.m. each week on Wednesdays, Cedar Room, Commonwealth Place in Royal Oak. Our major performances this term will be Sunday November 29th (afternoon), Friday December 11 (7:00 p.m.) and Saturday December 19 (2:00 p.m.).
ABOUT THE ALL-ABILITIES, ALL-AGES OPEN MIC COFFEE HOUSE SESSIONS
Held in partnershp with Garth Homer Society, these joyful sessions run from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on the first and third Saturday each month in the former SJ Willis School Building (923 Topaz Ave in Victoria). This position includes four hours per session (4:45-8:45 p.m.) including sound set up and mixing. Training is provided.

POSITION DETAILS AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants should have experience in solo singing in public shows/performances, preferably in musical theatre and/or pop music. Experience or receptivity in working with persons of diverse ages, cultures and abilities is important. Some experience and/or interest in technical audio production would be an asset.
Remuneration is negotiable, based on training and experience (i.e. $20-$24 per hour).
