As a Biological Clerk with VCH you will:

Provide ongoing coordination and maintenance of the vaccine inventory for the Regional CDC Office and supports local Community Health Centres (CHCs) across VCH in accordance with strict established policies and procedures.

Perform a variety of clerical support functions, including maintaining designated biological ordering databases, performing word processing duties such as inputting vaccine orders, preparing reports, memos, updating manuals, educational materials and communicating workflow updates.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
-
Grade 12 supplemented with an Office Administration Certificate.

Two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Valid BC Driver’s license, as local area travel may be required.
Knowledge & Abilities
-
Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment, and ability to utilize various current computer applications including various program specific databases.

Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
-
Ability to keyboard 40 wpm.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of stakeholders on behalf of the department.

Ability to compose business correspondence.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft office software (outlook, word, excel)

Ability to organize and prioritize under timelines.
-
Ability to work under the pressure of interruptions and adapt to changes.
-
Ability to problem solve and take initiative.
-
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to do basic mathematical calculations.

Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
As per the current Public Health Orders, as of October 5, 2023, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most-recent, updated COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
