CWB Financial Group is seeking a Manager, External Communications to join our evolving Client Solutions team! At CWB, we do things differently. In this new position you will set content strategy, provide thought leadership and work closely with creative agencies to plan and develop CWB’s integrated marketing communications strategy. Take the lead in the development, execution and evaluation of public relations programs and campaigns that generate public awareness, drive business objectives and enhance CWB Financial Group’s reputation. Key Focuses:
Develop, implement and evaluate public relations and external communications activities for CWB, CWB Franchise Finance, CWB Equipment Financing and Motive Financial, ensuring alignment with CWB Financial Group’s vision, brand promise and desired client experience.
Proactively seek, evaluate and implement opportunities to increase brand awareness, enhance organizational reputation and build community profile for CWB Financial Group and its senior executives.
Contribute to development of business development partnerships and sponsorships plan. Responsible for executing all agreed upon tactics.
Work with leader to create, develop, execute and evaluate a media relations plan for CWB Financial Group.
Acts as an approved spokesperson on key issues with all forms of media (TV, print, radio, online, social).
Proactively develop relationships with media outlets and reporters across our markets.
Contribute to the development of CWB’s digital presence, providing strategic communications advice and insight on content and structure enhancements for our social media channels and website.
Work with peers to develop a plan and actively manage the analytics and measurement of various external communications tools.
Proactively deliver strategic external communications solutions, support, guidance and advice to management. Prepare speaking notes or presentations.
Coordinate, create, implement and evaluate digital content for applicable websites, including but not limited to and
Collaborate with digital marketing peers to ensure tone, style and information is consistent across all websites.
Lead planning, execution and evaluation of CWB’s social media strategy that aligns with business objectives, is consistent with corporate values and leverages the client journey. Includes working with our creative agency on blog and news content.
Partner with internal teams responsible for brand, market and client research to ensure all strategies and initiatives consider Voice of the Client insights, industry best practices and, geographic, demographic and psychographic trends.

Essential Education and Experience:
A university degree or college diploma, with a preferred focus on public relations, marketing, communications or business.
Minimum 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in a public relations or communications role.
Proven change leadership experience with business transformation projects including coaching and mentoring high performing teams.
Experience in writing in a professional, corporate environment and/or in writing for online environments.
Existing relationships with and a strong understanding of Canadian media considered an asset.

Essential Personal Competencies:
Strong organization and coordination skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks at one time.
Excellent written and verbal communication, administrative, analytical, time management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changing deadlines/priorities.
Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.
Comfort in working with the highest levels of leadership, and managing multiple complex internal relationships simultaneously.
Project management experience an asset.
A good balance of analytical and problem solving skills combined with creative thinking.
A fast learner, resourceful, love of learning and a willingness to take initiative.
Must be a team player who can work independently and be flexible with their time.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, content management systems and analytics tools required; specific experience with Sitecore, Cision Cloud, CNW, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn considered an asset.
General knowledge and understanding of CWB Financial Group’s businesses an asset.
Demonstrated confidence with public speaking and presentations required.
Membership in IABC or CPRS considered an asset.
Some work may be required outside of regular business hours.
