Paradise Dock & Lift Inc. is one of Western Canada's leading manufacturers of premium aluminum docks and hydraulic boat lifts. As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of our accounting processes, improve financial reporting, and help drive the financial success of our business.
This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys improving processes, and takes pride in producing accurate and timely financial information. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and play an important role in supporting strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare working papers and coordinate with external accountants during year-end.
- Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll review, and cash management.
- Prepare and file GST, PST, payroll remittances, and other government filings.
- Prepare corporate tax working papers and liaise with external tax advisors.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial analysis.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, and job costing to improve profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
- Assist management with financial reporting, KPI development, and business planning.
- Support ERP improvements and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (or near completion) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, job costing, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
