Overview:
As a Field Technician at Ridgeside Facility Services, you will play a vital role in providing efficient and reliable facility services to our clients. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical tasks related to facility maintenance, repairs, installations, and inspections. The position requires a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
General
- Follow instructions provided by management and supervisors.

Facility Maintenance and Repairs
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of various systems and equipment within client facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Respond promptly and effectively to service requests and work orders, ensuring timely resolution of issues to minimize disruptions to client operations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
Installations and Upgrades
- Assist in the installation, setup, and configuration of new equipment and systems, following technical specifications and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors during equipment installations or upgrades, ensuring proper coordination and completion of projects.
- Test and verify the functionality of installed equipment, conducting necessary adjustments or calibrations as required.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and service requests using digital systems or paper-based documentation.
- Complete detailed service reports, outlining the scope of work performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations or observations.
- Provide regular updates to supervisors and managers regarding job status, challenges faced, and any exceptional incidents or delays encountered.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies while performing duties.
- Identify potential safety hazards or risks within client facilities and promptly report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and quality standards in all maintenance and repair activities.
- Safely complete projects involving hazardous materials or conditions by using appropriate PPE and strictly adhering to OHSA, WHMIS, and all other applicable safety regulations.
Customer Service and Communication
- Interact professionally with clients, understanding their requirements, and addressing their concerns.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to clients, explaining complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach, striving to exceed client expectations through efficient and quality service delivery.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is a plus.
- Available to respond to urgent client requests and work occasional hours outside of the regular weekly schedule.
- Proven experience as a field technician or similar role in facility services, building maintenance, or related industries.
- Solid knowledge of maintenance, repair, and installation procedures for various facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and technology-based maintenance systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement effective repairs or upgrades.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client sites as required.
Working Conditions:
- Employees may be required to work in a range of weather conditions, from mild to very hot or cold, including hot days, icy conditions, and stormy weather.
- In all seasons, employees must be prepared to work in rainy conditions and bring appropriate protective gear, such as rain jackets.
- Employees may be required to work at heights, perform hot work, conduct energized electrical work, or carry out other permit-required activities. In these situations, appropriate PPE, training, and instructions will be provided in accordance with OHSA, WHMIS and other applicable regulations.
