Apply your customer service skills and passion for safety to help ensure the safety of everyone who visits and works at Fort Edmonton Park. You will rove around the entire facility, ensuring safety protocols are being followed and responding to safety situations. Your success will be measured by your ability to perform all your duties in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:
Traverse the facility and check for/report potential safety concerns, such as broken boardwalks
Provide customer service to patrons by providing directions and answering questions
Provide support to staff by checking in on any unruly patron interactions and communicate these situations with a safety office
Assist in ensuring COVID guidelines are followed, including dispersing crowds and monitoring the flow of patrons throughout the site
Manage inventory, including performing AED inspections and monitoring First Aid/COVID-related supplies
Respond to first aid incidents and assume the incident commander role as needed
Coordinate other departmental responses to incidents as per the site ERP
Submit reports for incidents, track incident/site statistics and manage staff room safety boards
Support COVID protocols/processes and updates required
Other related duties as required
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent or higher
Experience providing safety support in a related role, such as lifeguarding, is an asset
Proven customer service skills, including the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to make decisions and problem solve a variety of situations/incidents
Physical ability to traverse the Fort Edmonton Park Site, including roving on uneven terrain in all weather and environmental conditions
Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this position
Completion of First Aid Level C or Emergency First Aid or higher or equivalent is required prior to employment
Hire is dependent on Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
Successful candidates must be willing to sign a media consent form in accordance with City policy and participate in media events
