Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable 1st Year Electrical Apprentice to join our renewable energy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gaining hands-on experience in renewable energy and the electrical field as a whole. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, solid work ethic, basic electrical knowledge, and a good attitude. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while working in a dynamic and safety-conscious environment.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Journeyman Electricians and Apprentices to assist with electrical installation on a large rooftop solar project in Balzac.
Responsibilities
- Install solar PV systems. Assist in the module installation.
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for assembly and mounting tasks.
- Conduct safety inspections throughout the installation process and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Assist with electrical installation including solar modules and inverters.
- Pull wire, and mount electrical equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Follow all company safety procedures and site requirements.
- Assist in loading and unloading of tools and materials onto rooftop as needed.
- Support the electrical crew with day-to-day tasks on site.
Experience
- Registered as a 1st Year Electrical Apprentice (or eligible to register).
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license and can reliable commute to jobsite.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and able to lift, squat and stand for long durations. Move 50lb + repeatedly.
- Commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship.
- Construction or roofing experience an asset.
- Prior experience in solar an asset.
- Fall Protection certification considered an asset.
- First year electrical knowledge or experience an asset.
