Airdrie Edge Gymnastics is a growing, community-focused, nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering high-quality recreational and competitive gymnastics programming. Since 1987, our Club has provided opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities to develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of sport.
Our organization offers recreational gymnastics programs alongside three competitive disciplines: Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline & Tumbling, and Parkour. About the Trampoline & Tumbling Program
Airdrie Edge’s Trampoline & Tumbling program has a strong history of athlete development and competitive success. The program provides opportunities for athletes from developmental and pre-competitive levels through provincial, national, and international pathways.
The program emphasizes long-term athlete development, technical excellence, positive coaching relationships, and a supportive team environment. Athletes are encouraged to pursue personal excellence while developing confidence, resilience, responsibility, and a lifelong appreciation for sport.
Position Summary
The Trampoline & Tumbling Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and day-to-day operation of the competitive Trampoline & Tumbling program. The Head Coach oversees athlete development pathways, mentors coaching staff, supports program planning, and fosters a positive team culture for athletes and families.
This position plays a key role in maintaining high-quality programming while supporting long-term athlete development from pre-competitive levels through national and international pathways.
The Head Coach works collaboratively with Club leadership, coaching staff, athletes, families, and provincial and national sport organizations to support the continued growth and success of the program.
Key Responsibilities
Athlete Development & Coaching
- Lead the development and delivery of the competitive Trampoline & Tumbling program.
- Serve as the primary coach for advanced and high-performance training groups while overseeing athlete development across all competitive levels.
- Develop long-term athlete pathways that support safe, progressive, and individualized growth.
- Monitor athlete progress and provide ongoing evaluation and feedback.
- Support athlete goal setting and competition preparation.
Program Leadership
- Plan and oversee training schedules, annual program goals, and competitive pathways.
- Lead annual program planning and contribute to budgeting for the Trampoline & Tumbling program.
- Organize competition selection and travel planning.
- Organize and oversee competitions, camps, and special events.
- Collaborate with Club leadership to support sustainable program growth.
- Ensure program delivery aligns with organizational values and athlete needs.
Coach Development & Mentorship
- Recruit, mentor, and support Trampoline & Tumbling coaching staff.
- Foster continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable coaching culture.
- Conduct staff evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support.
- Model and promote positive coaching practices that align with Airdrie Edge's commitment to Safe Sport and athlete-centred development.
Athlete & Family Relations
- Build positive relationships with athletes and families.
- Communicate program expectations, athlete progress, and competitive opportunities.
- Address questions and concerns professionally and respectfully.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful team environment.
Community & Sport Leadership
- Maintain positive relationships with the Alberta Gymnastics Federation and GymCan.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and sport leadership initiatives.
- Support Club events and promotional activities.
- Organize and run competitions and camps.
- Contribute to the growth and reputation of the Trampoline & Tumbling program.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and fellow Head Coaches to support Club-wide initiatives, scheduling, and organizational success.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, certifications, and Safe Sport requirements.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive training environment.
- Follow Club policies and operational procedures.
- Promote athlete well-being and positive sport experiences.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Minimum five years of competitive Trampoline & Tumbling coaching experience.
- NCCP Trampoline Competition Development 3 certified.
- Demonstrated experience developing athletes through competitive pathways.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience mentoring or supervising coaches.
- Ability to build positive relationships with athletes, families, and staff.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred
- NCCP Trampoline Competition Development Advanced 4 certification or equivalent.
- Experience coaching athletes at provincial, national, and international levels.
- Experience leading or developing a competitive program.
- Experience with athlete planning and long-term athlete development.
- Experience with event hosting, or program administration.
- Experience with registration software.
- Leadership experience within provincial or national sport organizations.
- Course conductor, evaluator, or mentor experience considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products.

Work Requirements
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to travel for competitions, training camps, and professional development opportunities.
- Flexible scheduling within operational requirements.
- This position includes approximately 20–25 hours per week of direct coaching, with the remaining hours dedicated to leadership, administration, coach development, planning, and program management.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
