Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Mechanic to join our automotive service team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn. Prior dealership experience or mechanical knowledge is a plus, but we are committed to training the right candidate. This paid apprenticeship provides an opportunity to develop technical skills, work with advanced tools, and gain practical experience in automotive repair and maintenance. Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing and repairing vehicles using hand tools, power tools, and schematics
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Learn to interpret technical diagrams and schematics for various vehicle systems
- Support the assembly and disassembly of automotive components during repairs
- Conduct heavy lifting of parts and equipment safely as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times during repair activities
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about repair status when appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior dealership experience or mechanical knowledge is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and schematics used in automotive repair
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on your feet for extended periods
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and maintenance procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or coursework in automotive technology is a plus
