Duties:
- Assist in sewing garments including hemming and finishing
-complete alterations & customer fittings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
-Complete high quality garments from start to finish
-Tailor and alter custom designs made to measure
Skills:
- Strong sewing skills and knowledge of garment construction.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating fabric requirements.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-Pattern making and pattern adjusting for made-to-measure knowledge
-Experience working with serger machine and coverstitch machine
-Familiarity working with knit fabrics
I am an independent designer working on stock for future collections. I am looking for a sewing assistant to finish clothing with me in my home studio. Garments include jackets, hoodies, pants and sweaters. Hours are flexible and seasonal. Knowledge of patchwork and quilting is a bonus. Pay will be determined based on experience and skill.
