We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team for a one-year contract. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting family law matters through the preparation of legal documents and court materials, coordination of client scheduling and communications, and diligent maintenance of files, dockets, and billings. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized professional with strong drafting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service within a fast-paced family law practice.

This is a one-year contract (leave replacement) with the possibility of extension. Salary range: $48,000–$60,000.
- Preparation of correspondence and legal documentation including extensive editing and quality assurance
- Preparation of family law forms, briefs and other materials to be filed with the Court
- Schedule and manage client consultations, court dates, and appointments
- Coordinate external and internal communication
- Daily maintenance of client files and address client inquiries as required
- Daily preparation of dockets and client billings
- Maintenance of electronic and physical filing systems
- Assist with other projects as required
- Office Administration – Legal or Law Clerk diploma from recognized post-secondary institute or suitable combination of education and experience
- Minimum two years of law office experience preferably in family law
- In-depth knowledge of court forms and court filing systems
- Proficiency in drafting, organizing, and presenting client financial disclosures, preliminary legal documents, and affidavits
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and DivorceMate/LEAP
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional presentation
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize job tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to respond effectively and professionally to changes in schedules and priorities
- Ability to ensure consistent attention to detail and ability to solve problems
- Ability to work in a collegial, fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information
