Title: Digital Specialist
Department: Community Engagement & Marketing
Reports To: Sr. Manager, Marketing

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is inventing the future of health care with a focus on trauma, brain, cardiac and women and babies. Sunnybrook treats the most critically ill patients in Ontario, pioneering life-saving innovations that are changing patient outcomes around the world. Sunnybrook Foundation exists to raise the awareness and funds required to ensure that Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre achieves its mission.

The Digital Specialist supports the Foundation’s marketing, fundraising and stewardship initiatives across all digital platforms including website, email, social media and digital advertising. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, the Digital Specialist will collaborate with internal teams especially the Digital Fundraising Specialist and external partners to design, develop and deliver an exceptional digital donor experience.

Key accountabilities:
Design, develop and implement digital solutions that meet business objectives including email, website, donation pages, and social media
Report on digital results and provide recommendations for improvement
Manage and optimize Foundation website
Provide insights to assist with the optimization of the CMS for email, web and digital assets
Work with internal and external partners as required to troubleshoot technical issue

Website
Includes Foundation website, campaign and event microsites

Update existing sites and landing pages
Design and build new sections, landing pages and microsites
Implement Google Tag Manager(GTM) on all new pages and ensure GTM standards are maintained
Liaise with hospital digital team and external partners for development needs when required
Design and build donation forms as required
Analyze, track and report on performance

Email

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop email campaigns
Design, build and deploy emails through Luminate, Mail Chimp and Sales Force Marketing Cloud
Analyze, track and report on performance as required
Track and report on usage rates for email deployment software to meet annual quotas

Digital advertising and organic social media

Design and build creative assets for digital advertising and organic social media
Apply UTM codes based on established parameters
Liaise with hospital digital team and external partners as required

Miscellaneous

Respond to digital requests, confirming expectations and deliverables as necessary to meet requirements and deadlines
Provide digital design and development support for new initiatives

Skills and abilities required:
Excellent time management skills with ability to juggle deadlines and self-manage
Collaborative, enjoys working with teams or independently
Strong communicator: ability to explain technical issues to team and enjoys sharing knowledge
Is open to feedback, seeks additional information and clarification and acts upon recommendations contributing to individual and organizational success
Embraces change and looks for opportunities for continuous improvement personally and for the organization
Committed to learning; stays informed on best practices, new tools and technology in digital design

Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience in a digital role
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver
Strong experience working with email deployment platforms; preferably Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Luminate, and Mailchimp
Experience with Formstack , NetCommunity and Raiser’s Edge would be of benefit
Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS and CMS, Google analytics and Google Tag Manager, JavaScript
Experience creating content for social media platforms and familiarity with Hootsuite, Sprout Social or social media management platforms. Familiarity with Adobe After Effects would be an asset
Understanding of the effective use of typography, layout and photography in digital channels
Experience working on digital marketing campaigns would be an asset
Working knowledge of accessibility standards
