We are seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental practice. As the first point of contact for patients, the successful candidate will play a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and communication skills, strong administrative abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Previous experience in a dental or medical office is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answer and manage incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments efficiently.
- Manage patient records, ensuring all information is accurate, up to date, and maintained confidentially.
- Process patient registrations, insurance information, and consent forms.
- Assist with billing, payment collection, insurance claims, and account inquiries.
- Perform data entry and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
- Coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and other team members to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, correspondence, and general administrative duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Monitor and order office supplies as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a dental office, medical office, or administrative/customer service role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
- Experience with dental practice management software is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of dental insurance processing and billing procedures is an asset.
- Strong data entry and record management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional phone etiquette and experience handling multi-line phone systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
