The Operations Manager, Remanufacturing is responsible for the management, and development, of the Remanufacturing business operations in support of our heavy equipment customers. In this role, the Operations Manager, Remanufacturing will lead in a way that promotes safety, alignment with our values, and efficiency. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their leadership, drive, and positivity to the team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading and managing the day-to-day activities of Reman operations. Plan, organize and direct all Reman operational activities. Establish a high level of performance and leads programs to build Reman capabilities. Establish a high level of internal and external satisfaction through effective communication of performance standards required to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of product and related services. Practices sound leadership and human relations principles to promote teamwork, respect, and inclusion.
Develops the leadership and the culture of the department through coaching, developmental planning, and talent selection. The Operations Manager is a role model through leading in a manner that inspires and engages the front-line leadership within the department. They can provide effective real-time coaching, feedback, and to hold leaders accountable for their results. The position requires significant experience with performance management and leadership identification and development.
Drives future production and maximizes performance as it relates to profitability, environmental compliance, cost reduction, workflow, productivity, best practices, human resources, and safety. Provides leadership and resources necessary to support the development, maintenance and continual improvement of the department’s Quality Management System and contributes to the creation and communication of the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives. Reviews KPI’s and operating results, compared with established objectives, and takes the appropriate measures to enhance outcome and performance.
Ensure all department activities are conducted in full compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, company rules and processes and other applicable legislation. Work with direct reports to resolve outstanding issues, escalate to next level of management as needed. Be an ambassador for safety by participating in all branch and company safety programs.
Lead the development and management of all related SMS in-house Reman/Component programs. Act as the SMS champion of the programs and actively engage the branches to ensure thorough understanding and support of the programs with SMS’ external customers. Support programs via internal training and education as well as appropriate marketing plans. Analyze the content, marketability, and financial success of various programs.

Qualifications include:
The successful incumbent will have obtained a minimum level of education equivalent to completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering or a related technical field. This role requires a minimum of 8-10 years of experience within the heavy equipment industry with previous manufacturing or remanufacturing experience. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience leading in a heavy industrial environment. 2 or more years leading leaders of trades (leading supervisors) is preferred. A strong operations orientation is required. Addition qualifications include previous experience with:

Setting objectives which are realistic but aggressive.
Continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment (six sigma, lean manufacturing, etc.)
Demonstrating strength and competence in impacting and influencing for resources and outcomes (i.e. budgets, people, and technology) and finding “win-win” solutions.
Effectively utilizes the skills of subordinates to accomplish work objectives; provides a degree of supervision, support and accessibility that is tailored to the subordinates’ level of maturity and ability.
Evaluating alternatives and assessing advantages / risks in making decisions which are timely, decisive, and effective. Have the courage and conviction to make important decisions in the face of conflicting or incomplete information.
Identifying and evaluating unique opportunities for improving the operations, generating new ideas, approaches or techniques having useful application.
Being highly motivated you will be able to influence and inspire others; maintain momentum even in the face of inevitable delays, setbacks, policy shifts and disappointment.
Acquiring and retaining knowledge / understanding through study, instruction, or experience.
Forecasting, managing revenue/expense controls, and providing informed analyses.
Creating a psychologically safe work environment in which employees can bring their complete self to work and take risks through the expression of new ideas.
Creating a team environment in which innovation and new approaches are abundant.
