Job description

Labbe-Leech Interiors is now seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the commercial construction industry, specializing in carpentry. As a Journeyperson Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing structures, fixtures, and other products on various job sites.
Responsibilities
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and construction requirements.
· Construct, install, and repair structures, such as walls, floors, stairs, and framing.
· Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood materials with precision.
· Install wood trim, doors and frames, windows, cabinets, flooring, and other finishes.
· Operate and maintain carpentry tools, including saws, drills, and other machinery.
· Work with a variety of materials, including wood, laminate, drywall, and composite materials.
· Ensure that all work meets safety standards, local codes, and client expectations.
· Perform detailed inspections and quality checks on completed projects.
· Collaborate with subcontractors to coordinate efforts.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
· Work with the Project Superintendent to problem solve on site issues.
· Promote and maintain effective business relations.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship preferred.
· 2-3 years experience as a Journeyperson Carpenter or similar role in the commercial construction industry.
· Solid knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and safety procedures.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and building plans.
· Excellent physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job, which may at times include lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
· Proficient in using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and other equipment relevant to carpentry.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and professional interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
· Valid safety certificates would be considered an asset; working at height, first-aid, etc.
Job Type/Pay:
· Full-time, Permanent
· $35.00-$40.00 per hour, depending on training & experience
· Overtime if applicable
