Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is mainly focused on prep work, including cutting vegetables, preparing ingredients, portioning, organizing, and supporting daily restaurant service and catering orders.
The position may also include some basic line cooking during service when required. Experience with Indian cuisine is considered an asset, but it is not required. The ideal candidate is clean, consistent, punctual, and comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare vegetables, sauces, marinades, and other ingredients for daily service
Assist with bulk prep for catering and restaurant operations
Portion, label, store, and organize food properly
Support cooks during service and assist with basic line cooking when needed
Cook or assemble menu items according to instructions and quality standards
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, storage areas, and kitchen equipment
Assist with portion control and minimize food waste
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow instructions, prep lists, and kitchen procedures consistently
Requirements
Previous kitchen, prep cook, or food service experience preferred
Indian cuisine experience is an asset, but not required
Comfortable with high-volume and repetitive prep work
Able to work efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
Able to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies when required
Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen cleanliness
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings as needed
Positive attitude and commitment to preparing quality food
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
