InnovOak School is an independent JK to Grade 12 school in Kitchener-Waterloo committed to academic excellence, character development, and future readiness.
Our French program begins in Junior Kindergarten and is designed to develop confident communicators rather than students who simply memorize vocabulary and grammar rules. We believe students learn languages by hearing, speaking, reading, writing, and using French in meaningful and authentic ways every day.
Teachers are expected to deliver the Ontario curriculum while extending student learning through internationally recognized language-learning practices and progression frameworks. Our long-term goal is for students to complete Grade 8 prepared to succeed in Ontario's Academic French (FSF1D) program in Grade 9. Wherever possible, students should be progressing toward internationally recognized CEFR language benchmarks, with the majority of students working toward CEFR B2 proficiency by the end of Grade 8 and many students exceeding that expectation.
Teachers are supported by the Ontario curriculum, Cambridge International Curriculum frameworks, and a collaborative teaching team committed to continuous improvement.
