Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Operational Performance serves as a senior strategic and operational partner to the COO and is accountable for driving enterprise execution and outcomes across the operating portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role for a trusted operator who thrives in complexity and brings exceptional judgment, influence, and execution discipline. This role is accountable for establishing and sustaining the disciplines, structures, and insights required to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across a complex operating environment that includes retirement living and lifestyle communities, long-term care, and transitional health services. As a critical member of the Senior Operating Team, this role ensures that organizational priorities translate into measurable improvements in quality, service delivery, and system performance.
Acting as an extension of the COO, this role moves beyond coordination to active ownership of enterprise execution in operations, ensuring that priorities are implemented effectively, performance gaps are identified and addressed, and outcomes are continuously improved. The Director brings rigor to performance management, quality oversight, and cross-functional delivery, holding teams accountable for results while strengthening organizational capability.

About the Opportunity
- Lead enterprise execution of operational and strategic priorities with a clear focus on quality, safety, service, and performance outcomes.
- Ensure organizational priorities are translated into defined operational deliverables, measurable targets, and clear accountabilities within each operating division.
- Establish disciplined operating systems and review processes that strengthen execution and accountability across the operating group
- Identify and intervene to address performance gaps, risks, and barriers to execution
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve service delivery, operational effectiveness, and organizational outcomes
- Translate data into decisions, priorities, and interventions across the operating group.
- Collaborate with Analytics and Innovation, Operations, and Home Offcie teams to ensure data, insights, and improvement efforts are aligned and actionable.
- Champion a culture of accountability and results and ensure successful initiatives are sustained and scaled across the organization
- Requires travel between sites, service lines and regional operations
About You
You are first and foremost an operator, deeply committed to practical identification and execution of priorities in complex, fast-paced environments. In addition to an exceptional degree of autonomy and accountability, you bring:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field
- Significant progressive operating leadership experience in complex service environments, preferably within seniors living, healthcare, or another highly regulated sector
- Advanced operational acumen and sound judgment in complex, fast-moving environments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking with the demonstrated ability to convert strategy into action.
- High level of political acuity, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ability to build trust and influence without direct authority.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities with urgency and discipline.
- Outstanding communication, writing, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong project and change management capability.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with performance metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Deep commitment to quality, service excellence, and person-centered care.
Asset Qualifications:
- Clinical background in nursing, paramedicine, allied health, or another healthcare discipline
- Experience working with government partners, service agreements, regulated care delivery environments, or large-scale transformation initiatives
