Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Experience with dealership operations and customer service is highly valued, along with proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and schematics. The position offers an opportunity to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models, contributing to customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair automotive issues using mechanical knowledge and schematics
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify potential problems before they become major issues
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures, including heavy lifting and the use of safety equipment
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced
- Assist with the installation of new parts and components as needed
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and estimated completion times
- Ensure work area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems and repairs
- Dealership experience is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including diagnostics and assembly processes
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy shop environment
- Certification or technical training in automotive technology is a plus
- 2nd or 3 year apprentice
