Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Design Consultant to join an innovative design team in Windsor, Ontario.
The Sales Design Consultant is responsible for driving business growth through consultative sales, relationship development, and strategic market expansion. This role combines business development, account management, and design-focused client engagement to deliver innovative workplace and commercial interior solutions. Working closely with our clients' design, project management, and operations teams, the Sales Design Consultant will identify opportunities, develop client relationships, and guide customers through the entire sales and design process from concept to completion.
Location: Windsor, Ont
Salary: $45,000 to $50,000/year + commission ( dependent on experience )
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the organization's presence within targeted industries and vertical markets.
- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with architects, designers, contractors, developers, facility managers, and end-user clients.
- Identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, industry events, and market research.
- Conduct client consultations to understand workplace, operational, and design requirements.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop customized furniture and workplace solutions that align with client needs, budgets, and timelines.
- Present design concepts, space plans, product recommendations, and project proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage opportunities through the sales pipeline, maintaining accurate records and activity within the CRM system.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience from initial engagement through project completion and installation. This could include: conducting site walk-through with clients, installers and Project Coordinator before, during and after installation; documenting and resolving issues/claims; etc
- Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to strengthen brand awareness and market presence.
- Maintain a high level of product, industry, and workplace design knowledge to provide trusted advisory support to clients.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in consultative sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing roles.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development and client engagement.
- Ability to understand client needs and translate them into functional workplace and furniture solutions.
- Comfortable working in a goal-oriented environment with sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the commercial furniture, contract furniture, workplace solutions, interior design, architectural products, construction products, or related industries.
- Familiarity with floor plans, space planning, furniture layouts, and workplace design concepts.
- Experience presenting design concepts, product solutions, or project recommendations to clients.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is considered a strong asset.
- Experience using CET Designer or other furniture specification software is considered an asset.
- Understanding of commercial furniture products, specifications, and workplace environments is preferred.

Pay: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
