OVERVIEW
Sara Riel Inc. is a community-based organization committed to supporting mental health and wellness through person-centered services. Sara Riel Foundation manages all the real property associated with the work of Sara Riel Inc. as well as providing additional community supports. The Communications and Development Manager leads outreach, fundraising, and brand engagement efforts for Sara Riel Inc. and Sara Riel Foundation. This role requires a strategic storyteller who thrives in a mission-driven environment and is passionate about building relationships that fuel impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES TO SARA RIEL INC.
Communications
· Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with Sara Riel’s mission and values.
· Manage and grow the organization’s digital presence, including website, social media, and newsletters.
· Create compelling content that highlights community, program impact, and organizational milestones.
· Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms and materials.
Fund Development
· Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and special events.
· Maintain donor database and track engagement metrics.
· Research and identify new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
· Assist in grant writing and reporting in collaboration with program leads.
· Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
Community Engagement
· Represent Sara Riel at community events, networking opportunities, and stakeholder meetings.
· Collaborate with internal teams to promote programs and services.
· Develop outreach materials and presentations for public education and advocacy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Fundraising, or a related field
· Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, development, or non-profit marketing
· Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
· Proficiency in social media management, graphic design tools (e.g., Canva), and CRM platforms
· Experience with grant writing and donor relations is an asset.
· Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Be in good mental and physical health to meet the demands of the job.
· Satisfactory Employment record.
· Provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Adult and Child Abuse Registry Check.
