Environmental Officer

AECOM is currently seeking an Environmental Officer for the upcoming 4th Canadian Division Training Centre Meaford Site Support Services proposal. The anticipated project will provide operation and maintenance support for facilities including HVAC systems, water systems, power systems, transportation/transportation infrastructure, IT, food services, fire services, waste management, supply, and accommodations. The Environmental Officer will perform general environmental support services and analysis to ensure the success of the environmental program including the following responsibilities:

+ Manage the on-site and off-site hazardous waste activities including development and oversight of programs.

+ Plan, design, and direct programs to solve problems concerned with environment.

+ Determine sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil, utilizing knowledge of agriculture, chemistry, meteorology, and engineering principles and applied technologies.

+ Design gas and fluid flow systems, chemical reaction systems, mechanical equipment, and other test instrumentation.

+ Perform technical research and utilize computers as aids in developing solutions to engineering problems.

+ Formulate plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications.

Minimum Requirements

+ A university degree or college diploma in Physical Science or Engineering related to the environment.

+ A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Environmental Protection where the duties included following the Environmental Protection Act.

+ Good communications and analytical skills.

+ Ability to gain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Biology or Chemistry and 5 years work related experience.

+ Active security clearance.
