AHS is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team at Glenrose Hospital. GRH is the largest standalone rehabilitation facility in Canada. We specialize in helping patients of all ages who require complex rehabilitation to regain independence and improve their quality of life. In this role, you will work to your full scope of practice, supporting safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care across all areas of drug distribution. You will coordinate and perform medication distribution activities, including nonsterile compounding and inventory management. Key responsibilities include drug preparation, repackaging, and final product checks, dispensing individual patient prescriptions and ward stock, supporting clinical care through problem-solving and discrepancy resolution, mentoring new staff and students through training and orientation, and collaborating across disciplines to improve outcomes and processes. You will uphold NAPRA and ACP standards, oversee delegated tasks, and contribute to operational activities and improvement initiatives. Strong verbal and written English communication skills are essential along with professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, and computer proficiency. The ideal candidate excels in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrates reliability, critical thinking, and adaptability and is committed to confidentiality, accuracy, and effective teamwork. Candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively. Physical requirements include visual acuity, keyboarding, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and extended standing and walking. This role also involves handling hazardous medications using appropriate PPE.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Current, provisional, or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent hospital pharmacy technician experience, including medication selection, compounding, checking, and narcotics handling is required (at least 1 year within the last 3). Working knowledge of Willow Pharmacy (Connect Care). To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered, please attach a resume and cover letter with your application. Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Pyxis or Omnicell systems, and automated packaging equipment is preferred. Membership in a Pharmacy Technician association (e.g., PTSA, CAPT, CSHP) is preferred. Experience with unit dose, wardstock, blister packaging, pass and bridge medications is preferred.
