Shift Work Required: NoReporting to the Senior Manager/Deputy Chief Information Officer – Technology Strategy and Operations, this position will be responsible for:

Managing technology infrastructure which includes the data centre, servers, storage, communication and networking; including infrastructure lifecycle management, capacity planning, and technology refresh initiatives;
- Providing leadership, coaching, workforce planning, succession planning, and professional development for Technical Support Ananlyst staff;
- Defining and measuring service delivery goals and objectives of IT infrastructure and services as well as Technical Support Analyst staff; including service level targets, operational performance measures, and continuous service improvement initiatives:
- In conjunction with IT Managers defining and measuring performance of IT services and develop and maintain corporate policies on new hardware, software and applications;
- Ensuring that all mission critical systems are operational during hours of use - these hours could be up to seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day for some systems;
- Ensuring that appropriate security is in place to maintain the integrity of corporate data, to stop the intrusion of outside forces that could corrupt and/or destroy corporate data, and to make sure that appropriate backup and recovery systems are in place;
- Managing infrastructure-related projects, procurement activities, vendor relationships, contracts, and associated operating and capital budgets;
- Performing Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program;
- Performing other related duties as required.
- Must have a Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Sciences, Information Studies, or Math or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a technology services position; OR

Must have a University Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Sciences, Information Studies, or Math or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in a technology services position; OR
-
Must have a College Diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Sciences, Information Studies, or Math or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a technology services position;
- Must have the ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and expedient manner as required. If method of travel is by vehicle, a current valid and lawful Driver's Licence is required in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and must provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment;

Must have experience writing business plans;

Must have managerial/supervisory experience demonstrating team leadership;

Must have extensive and demonstrable experience in the application of business and management principles to the use of computer technology;

Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time;

Must be able to manage and motivate a diverse staff of professionals;

Must be able to deal calmly and professionally with irate customers;

Must be able to interpret a complicated problem/solution and explain it in non-technical terms;

Must have good written and oral communication skills;

Should have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, its regulations and knowledge of the hazards associated with the work;

Will be required to complete and remain current as per the requirements of the Corporation’s Management Certificate Program;

Progression through the Art of Supervision Program Certificate or a supervisory program of a similar nature is considered an asset.
