About the Client:
We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for a grandmother with progressing Alzheimer's disease who needs daily support. She uses a walker or wheelchair for mobility and requires supervision for safety due to cognitive decline. The family is looking for consistent, reliable care and has experience working with caregivers previously. They're seeking someone who can provide specialized support as care needs continue to evolve.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with mobility using walker or wheelchair throughout the day • Provide bathing and personal care support • Prepare full meals and assist with feeding • Manage medication reminders and administration • Provide cognitive support including memory prompts, redirection, and safety supervision • Complete cleaning and laundry tasks • Occasionally provide transportation for errands or appointments • Maintain clear communication with family about care needs and any changes
What We're Looking For:
• Proven experience with Alzheimer's and dementia care • Strong skills in mobility assistance with walkers and wheelchairs • Comfortable providing personal care including bathing • Experience with meal preparation and feeding assistance • Knowledge of medication management • Patient, calm demeanor with ability to redirect and supervise for safety • Fluent English speaker • Reliable, consistent, and takes initiative when needed • Brings positive energy and makes clients feel comfortable • Strong communication skills with family members • Available for daily visits • Valid driver's license for occasional transportation needs
Schedule:
Daily care is needed most days of the week. The family values consistency and reliability in their caregiver's schedule.
This position requires specialized skills and experience due to the progressive nature of Alzheimer's disease. The ideal caregiver will be someone who can adapt as care needs change while maintaining a warm, supportive presence that helps the client feel safe and comfortable in her home.
