Job Description
PSD’s Business Analyst bridges the gap between the business team and technical solutions team as we continue to grow. The Business Analyst will own client software support, manage support tickets and provide first class customer service to our clients via phone, email and other channels. This role will split between client support job duties set at 50% and 50% Business Analysis job duties. The successful candidate will elicit correct business requirements from stakeholders in their most direct and actionable form. They will be responsible for interpreting the limitations and concerns of the technical system from a subject matter expert and coordinate a solution that fits all stakeholder needs. The Business Analyst will have exposure to front-end, user interface and support client troubleshooting issues in the applications itself.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Bridging the communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Function as the Project Manager for FMW Software Migration & Installations.
- Collaborate with the Implementation Advisor in conducting client needs analysis and develop and review configuration specifications, work instructions and other documents.
- Act as a liaison between the technical and implementation team in reviewing, amending, and following up on specification documentation, Jira ticket validation, and status changes.
- Gather technical documents, validate business requirements, and produce detailed business requirement documentations.
- Work with PSD’s Implementation Team & Development Team to identify and assist in the re-engineering, improvement or replacement of business processes and related technology.
- Document software support activities thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders including clients and other cross-function teams to analyze and combine detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Support conducting needs analysis, developing specifications, systems training and design documentation contributing to the system development life cycle (SDLC).
- Drafting documentation such as Business Requirement Documents, Functional Requirement Documents, Use Case diagrams, Epic/User story logs, System Specifications.
- Developing a detailed implementation and support plan to the end-users including training materials, modules, e-learning, etc.
- Documented future state solution, processes, technology, and human resources.
- Supporting system design, development and testing activities and provide requirements clarification if necessary.
- Project manage client software upgrades and migrations.
- Perform system functionality verification and sanity testing.
- Support QA activities to develop test cases, and during testing execution.
- Develop presentation materials and project related documents.
- Contribute to the development of training documentation and training execution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or the equivalent, combined with related experience in a business or computer related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Software Support, Systems Analyst or Business System Analyst within a software environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing skills.
- Exceptional ability to elicit, analyze and document requirements from multiple groups or business units.
- Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (Waterfall or Agile).
- Experience working with SDLC, Google Drive Suite, Universal Modelling Language (UML), Development Methodologies, Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Confluence, Stash integration).
- Deadline driven individual with strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, attention to detail, creative, and able to collaborate with team members with professionalism and tact.
- Ability to work independently with both technical staff and users at various levels to investigate and validate all aspects of document and/or business problem and overcome any obstacles to finding answers.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office tools (Access, Excel, Word, and Power Point), MS Project, and Visio.
- Experience implementing IT Service Management systems and associated processes.
- Professional self-starter with a commitment to constantly upgrade skills through continuous learning.
