The IT Investment Solutions Group at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) is looking for an experienced individual to fill a permanent, fulltime role as a seasoned IT Business Consultant to lead the Dimension Team. The Dimension team creates solutions in SimCorp Dimension to support core Portfolio management and Accounting functions. In this role you will lead a broad spectrum of projects that involve the core portfolio management and investment accounting functions. You will use agile methodologies and partner with stakeholders in front, mid, and back office to deliver solutions that will have a real, tangible impact on HOOPP’s performance. Within 6 months the expectation is that you will grow within the department to oversee the real estate and private equity vendor and in-house solutions in addition to your current Dimension role. The exposures to the various aspects of the business will allow you to learn the ins-and-outs of how HOOPP operates. You will develop tight-knit relationships with the stakeholders and focus to take our team, department and business to the next level.

What you will do:
Be a Solutions Group Product Owner: Develop and realize the Product vision (develop roadmaps, manage scope, determine Minimal Viable Products (MVP), evaluate cost vs. value tradeoffs, backlog prioritization and management, create stories to incorporate user and technical feedback etc.), research and develop new and innovative ideas
Build strong relationships with business stakeholders including Securities Operations, Accounting, Investment Management and other IT delivery Teams with the end goal to achieve highest value solutions and decisions
Be in the trenches with the team: Be hands on with the Team and work closely with team in determining solution options, implement critical items and production support across a comprehensive set of asset classes (Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, OTC products, Real estate etc.)
Vendor relationship management: Lead the initiative to establish a Vendor Management COE within ISG through collaboration with ISG Leadership and SRG, evaluate vendor solution options, influence/negotiate vendor road map; Liaise with Finance VPs to ensure optimal vendor solutions and cost
Partner with the Solutions Group Architect and Agile Delivery Manager to support People Leadership: Be a servant leader, provide skill mentorship to team individuals providing technical, analytical and leadership guidance as well as provide input identifying growth opportunities and performance evaluations

Who you are:
8+ years of experience within Asset Management or Technology provider to Asset Management firms. Core experiences include configuring Portfolio Management, Trading, Accounting and Position Keeping solutions. Nice to have experience with SimCorp Dimension and/or with Private Equity and Real Estate Solutions like Investran, MRI, Yardi etc.
Vendor engagement and vendor management experience including leading or being part of a vendor selection process, contract negotiations, contract governance, vendor solution upgrades etc.
Solution provider and lean thinker demonstrating product ownership with strong focus on value and Minimal Viable products.
Has played multiple HANDS ON roles throughout career (Solution Visioning, Analysis, Solution Design, sizing, building/implementing, QA, Production Promotions, Production Support)
Strong knowledge in trade entry, trade lifecycle, position keeping, corporate actions, accounting, data extracts, data imports,
People Leadership and Mentoring Experience Actively working with IT Analysts and Developers on the Technical Build, answering questions and removing barriers.
Professionalism, integrity as well as the ability to prioritize assignments and work within a diverse and dynamic team are essential
Degree in Finance or Business; CMA, CFA or CPA designation a plus
Excellent facilitator and interviewer (able to pull out deeper business needs & usage patterns)
Understands the why (curious, asks probing questions, digs deep, open minded)
Ability to create clarity and get everyone on the same page
Comfortable whiteboarding complex data models and data flows
Excellent Requirements documentation (clear, concise)
Has strong trust and confidence of team and business.

Ability to anticipate 'surprises' early on (and change course/mitigate)
