Otter Trail Winery is seeking an enthusiastic and hospitality-focused Manager to join our team. Nestled in the heart of Langley, our winery offers guests a unique farm-to-table dining experience paired with exceptional wines and warm, welcoming service.

Responsibilities
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or event management role with demonstrated success leading a team is required.
- Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house staff, fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee daily restaurant and operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences and efficient service.
- Manage reservations, table allocations, and event logistics while optimizing service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Implement, maintain, and continually improve service standards, server routines, bartender procedures, and operational systems.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff through regular feedback, training, and performance management.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings, communicate daily priorities, and ensure all team members are prepared for service.
- Monitor staff performance and maintain accountability for service quality, appearance, and adherence to company standards.
- Resolve guest concerns, complaints, and service recovery situations professionally and proactively.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor licensing, and company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless communication between front and back of house.
- Support the execution of private events, weddings, and special functions.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor, providing hands-on support during service while leading by example.
- Build strong relationships with guests, encourage repeat business, and uphold the venue's reputation for outstanding hospitality.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of serving and/or bartending experience and 2 years in a management role in a restaurant, winery, brewery, cocktail bar, or similar hospitality environment.
- Previous winery or wine-focused restaurant experience is considered an asset.
- General wine knowledge and an interest in learning more about wine production and service.
- Valid Serving It Right certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, and strong work ethic.
- Availability to work weekends is required, as the role includes regular participation in weddings, special events, and private functions throughout the season.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
