Licata Law is a small boutique law firm, currently seeking an energetic, dedicated, and hardworking professional to fill the position of Family Law Lawyer at our North York location.
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Family Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, demonstrating the ability to handle cases involving divorce, child custody, adoption, and other related matters. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to client advocacy, and a thorough understanding of legal processes.
Duties
- Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, and adoption processes.
- Conduct legal research to support case strategies and provide informed legal advice.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, marriage contracts, surrogacy agreement, pre-conception agreements with precision and clarity.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law statutes and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal options and procedures.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
Skills
- Proficient in legal drafting with the ability to write clear and persuasive documents.
- Strong negotiation skills to advocate effectively for clients’ interests.
- Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis for case preparation.
- Excellent research abilities to gather relevant information and precedents.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients during sensitive situations.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
