Automotive Red Seal Technician
(Experience & Certification Required)
Location: 324 41 AVE NE, Calgary, AB
Pay: $40–$45/hr (based on experience and skill level)
Criteria
We are looking for a highly experienced, Red Seal–certified Automotive Technician who takes pride in their skill, conducts accurate diagnostics, works efficiently, and believes in providing high-quality repairs.
This role is for you if you are confident in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and comfortable working on a variety of makes and models, including modern non-hybrid vehicles.
We primarily work on Honda, Toyota, Ford, Dodge, Nissan, GMC, Hyundai, and Kia. We generally do not service European brands such as BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, or Volvo.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnostics & Repairs
- Perform accurate electrical and mechanical diagnostics (no guesswork or unnecessary parts replacement)
- Diagnose drivability concerns, engine performance issues, and electrical faults efficiently
- Perform major repairs including (but not limited to):
- Transmission and/or engine replacement
- Clutch kits
- Valve cover gaskets
- Timing chains
- Water pumps and other drive belt components
- Wheel bearing diagnostics and replacement
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections during oil changes and general service opportunities
Workflow & Quality Control
- Perform pre-repair test drives to confirm customer concern and baseline vehicle condition
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Perform post-repair test drives to confirm issue is resolved
- Torque all wheels and document completion
- Maintain accurate records of fluids used, parts installed, and any deviations or complications
- Document findings clearly so service advisors can create accurate customer-facing reports
Shop Standards & Procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times
- Follow structured workflow processes and internal procedures to reduce errors and liability
- Perform vehicle walkarounds before work begins to document pre-existing damage
- Proactively identify additional repair opportunities when appropriate
- Complete a checklist of shop tasks when no active work is assigned

Ideal Candidate
- Red Seal Certified Automotive Technician (required)
- Several years of hands-on experience in a professional shop
- Strong electrical diagnostic ability (required)
- Confident mechanical skillset
- Efficient, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Comfortable working independently without constant supervision
