The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of food orders for evening and weekend takeout, delivery, catering, and special events. This full-time role supports delivery operations during high-demand service periods and assists with order staging, packaging, restocking, cleaning support, and operational tasks during non-delivery periods.
During non-delivery periods, the Delivery Driver supports operational efficiency through order staging, packaging, restocking, cleaning support, and light operational assistance as directed.
- Deliver food orders safely, accurately, and on time.
- Verify order accuracy and completeness prior to departure.
- Maintain proper food temperature and packaging integrity during transport.
- Provide professional and culturally respectful customer service at delivery locations.
- Follow delivery routes efficiently and safely.
- Drive in accordance with all traffic laws, company expectations, and safe driving practices.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Support catering setup, transport, and event drop-offs.
- Carry and transport food trays, catering pans, and boxed orders safely to delivery sites.
- Assist with order packaging and staging during non-delivery periods.
- Portion sauces, condiments, and side items as directed.
- Restock takeout supplies and packaging materials.
- Support light prep and organizational tasks under kitchen supervision, excluding cooking duties unless trained and authorized.
- Maintain cleanliness of delivery staging areas.
- Assist with evening organization, cleaning, restocking, and closing support as directed.
- Communicate delivery delays, customer concerns, or order issues promptly.
- Follow all workplace, food safety, and operational standards.
- Support teamwork and assist other departments when operationally required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s licence required.
- Clean driver’s abstract required.
- Previous delivery or customer service experience is an asset.
- Previous restaurant, catering, or food service experience is an asset.
- Strong time-management skills and reliability.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow direction.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safe driving practices.
- Ability to provide respectful service to customers, clients, community members, and team members.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work full-time evening and weekend shifts, statutory holidays, catering events, and operational peak periods as required.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s licence.
- Clean driver’s abstract required upon hire.
- Manitoba Food Handler Certification required, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- WHMIS Certification is considered an asset.
- Must participate in all required workplace safety, food safety, delivery, and operational training.
- A three (3) month probationary period applies. Performance, reliability, safe driving practices, operational support, customer service standards, teamwork, and compliance with workplace expectations will be reviewed during this period.
- Employment is conditional upon:Legal eligibility to work in Canada;Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, if required;Valid driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract;Signing a Confidentiality Agreement;Signing the Code of Conduct;Compliance with the Respectful Workplace Policy;Compliance with company policies and procedures; andMaintaining required food safety and workplace training.
- The role requires driving, frequent walking and standing, repetitive lifting of 40–60 lbs, and the ability to safely carry heavy catering trays, boxed orders, and food containers up stairways, through buildings, and while navigating elevators, ramps, uneven surfaces, and various weather conditions.
