We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck and Trailer Mechanic for a Full-time permanent position based out of the Stouffville ON area . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Truck and trailer repair, heavy equipment maintenance, and electrical systems. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks, trailers, and various industrial equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Experience with, heavy machinery, and mechanical schematics is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of Truck and trailer and equipment in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time permanent position, direct hire with the company, not through an agency.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct electrical repairs on vehicle systems and industrial equipment
- Operate power tools and hand tools to disassemble, repair, or replace components
- Weld metal parts as needed for structural repairs or modifications
- Conduct inspections to identify wear and tear or potential safety hazards
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed
- Assist with the assembly of new equipment or vehicle modifications
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs and solutions effectively
Skills
- 310T Truck and Coach Technician certification.
- Proven mechanic experience with trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery
- Dealership experience is a plus
- Proficiency with excavator, crane, forklift operation, and heavy equipment handling
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and farm machinery maintenance
- Electrical experience including wiring diagrams and schematics interpretation
- Welding skills for structural repairs
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including HVAC systems
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Heavy lifting capability for moving parts or equipment safely
- Experience with industrial equipment assembly and maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members in a professional manner
Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm- 40-50 hours per week
$42-$46/hr to start please benefit to start immediately. Must have own tools with minimum 5 years experience.
