As a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator, the ideal candidate will be a self-starting IT professional with a solid technical background. Reporting to the IT Manager, the Cloud Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that the performance, availability, security, configuration, and growth of our overall IT infrastructure aligns with our organization’s evolving needs and requirements.

Our office is located inside the Atlantic Avenue Art Block, directly above Bite Groceteria and Café Gravity. Located in the vibrant community of Inglewood, an historic area home to many restaurants, shops and art & culture venues. Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily administration and support of the organization's various hosting and infrastructure environments
  • Deployment, configuration, and performance tuning of the Absorb LMS product
  • Continuous improvement for technology and processes for the SaaS environment
  • Ensuring long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall IT/IS planning of the organization
  • Support cloud servers including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Configure and fine tune cloud infrastructure systems
  • Install and configure virtual cloud instances
  • Implementing infrastructure enhancements to improve the reliability and performance of the system
  • Developing, promoting, and offering improvements to IT/IS standard operating procedures
  • Conducting routine audits of infrastructure to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, configuration and security guidelines
  • React to, act on, and manage incoming requests and monitoring alarms, prioritizing according to business needs
  • Support daily server and network operations including server patching, upgrades, and deployments

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of experience in deploying, managing and operating scalable, highly available and fault tolerant systems on AWS
  • 5+ years of experience managing and administering a production mission-critical environment with a yearly uptime of >99.9%
  • Highly process oriented
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages, Powershell,
  • Hands on experience running cloud infrastructure in public clouds like AWS
  • Experience with configuration management, Chef, Puppet, Cloudformation
  • Ability to provide AWS operations and deployment guidance, best practices, and recommendations
  • Experience in supporting a fast-growing multi-tenanted SaaS-based application
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2008 R2 - 2016) and its core roles/features (including AD, DNS, IIS, etc)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012 - 2016)
  • Experience with Docker or any other container technology
  • Highly passionate for the cloud and the latest new technologies
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining a strong commitment to quality of work
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • High availability for on-call and off-hours support activity
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
  • Post-secondary certification in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field and/or equivalent education and work experience

Nice to Haves:

  • Achieved and obtained an AWS Certification
  • Experience with database administration
