Axiom Material Handling Solutions is seeking Mechanical Installers to join their team. Our core focus at Axiom is to be a leader in the food and beverage, industrial, contracting and manufacturing construction industry.
Job Purpose: A key participant in the relationship with the company, and other contractors on site; the Installer has a further role as ensuring the quality of the parts and material they are using to install. The Installer has the following specific areas of responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities
Ø Understand the Scope of Work in collaboration with the AMHS Site Supervisor and AMHS Foremen as passed down by the AMHS Project Manager.
Ø Recognize, address, and resolve issues/problems between assigned team members.
Ø Maintain work standards and behavioral expectations set by the AMHS Site Supervisor to ensure that other team members morale and productivity meet standards.
Ø Apply the principles of workplace respect on site.
Ø Ensure assigned tasks are performed in compliance with Customer and Axiom policies and procedures.
Ø Know, understand, communicate, and ensuring compliance with the provincial and company safety policies and procedures.
Ø Participating in safety and hazard investigations.
Ø Periodically reassessing daily goals to meet forecasted production
Ø Participate in assembly of large complex parts following blueprints, quality requirements, engineering drawings, & written instructions.
Ø Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts to form sub-assemblies of finish products using hand and power tools.
Quality Control: The Installer is accountable for ensuring that the completed work meets quality standards. This includes:
Ø On-site assessment before commencing work to ensure that the job site is ready.
Ø Escalate the concerns to the AMHS Site Supervisor and/or Foremen and address any concerns in a diplomatic manner.
Ø Participate in the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that assigned tasks are following job specifications and follows the plans.
Ø Inspecting and measuring completed work.
Skills/Qualifications:
Ø Experience working on construction sites for commercial, industrial and/or residential projects.
Ø Technical diploma in a construction-related field or equivalent are an asset but not required.
Ø Millwright Apprenticeship or Journeyman Certification are an asset but not required.
Ø Participate as a team member on a team or lead a team.
Ø Effectively communicate orally and in writing with good comprehension.
Ø Apply good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Qualifications:
Ø 1 + years of experience in mechanical assembly/installation.
Ø Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Ø Ability to travel for work within Canada and the United States of America.
Ø A self-starter and a proven team player.
Ø Strong work ethic and a problem solver.
Ø Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ø Flexible to work any shift structures assigned, weekends, overtime and off shift work.
