We are seeking candidates for the Full time position of Dispatch Coordinator to work with our team at our Toronto Location.
The Dispatch Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating our businesses, tracking and reporting any delays, expediting shipments and keeping an accurate data on TMS. Management skills are must and candidate should know how to make new customers.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of sales and marketing is must
- High performer in communication and getting new clients on board
- Previous client base is an asset
- Strong negational skills
- Source carriers for existing customer freight movements, prospect quoting and RFP activities.
- Expand our carrier network in our TMS, including maintaining the database of lanes, equipment, service levels.
- Arrange pick-up and/or delivery of client orders
- Geographic knowledge of Canada and US is must
- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple modes of freight, FTL, LTL, reefer, hazardous goods.
- Maintain driver detention time and manage equipment through effective communication and planning in order to improve operational efficiency and profitability
- Ability to efficiently assign loads on driver to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and driver retention for assigned market areas. Including monitoring ongoing freight optimization based on current loads in progress.
- Maintains the company safety culture with driver briefings, and help enforce company policies to ensure MTO compliance and company requirements are being met.
- Responsible for driver load monitoring, including resolving any issues that may affect the scheduled times for pickup or delivery, while proactively communicating to the affected customers.
- Knowledge of different types of equipment for transportation
- Knowledge of Office 365, Load Link, Dat, TMS
- Ability to learn in house TMS
- Fuel experience considered an asset
Minimum Qualification:
- High School Diploma/GED with up to 2 years of Transportation, Customer Service, Marketing skills, Administrative or related; ability to work across under high pressure with focused mind set approach
- 1 year Cross Border USA-CANADA Experience
Preferred Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 year of relevant professional experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry

- Analytical Skills
- TMS Software experience an asset.
- Effective communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work under high pressure
