Job Summary

The two most critical roles for the Post Harvest and Packaging Supervisor is to oversee all post-harvest operations from drying to packaging, and to hire and train staff that are capable of meeting production goals and maintaining a consistent, high-quality medical cannabis line fully consistent with Standard Operating Procedures. Working with all employees engaged in post-harvest activities, he/she will ensure the entire process is monitored, regulated and the result is excellent medical cannabis. The Post Harvest and Packaging Supervisor will provide the organizational tools to improve the capability of the business process.

The Post Harvest and Packaging Supervisor may serve as the Alternate Responsible Person in Charge when the Division Manager (RPIC) is not present. The Post-Harvest Supervisor will work at the site and have responsibility for supervising the activities with respect to dried cannabis conducted at that site by the licensed producer under their license. The Post Harvest and Packaging Supervisor must ensure compliance with all relevant Acts and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Oversee the complete drying process and ensure the dried product meets required specifications
Schedule all post-harvest activities to ensure a smooth work flow.
Weigh, combine and manage bulk inventory containers, ensuring accurate weights.
Label and seal packaged products.
Assist in fulfillment and shipping during peak periods.
Ability to learn new processes.
Maintains a safe work environment by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Able to communicate effectively with team members.
Thorough understanding of company goals, objectives, policies and matters related to the business.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work variable shifts.
Other duties as assigned by QAP.
Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion; sensitivity to confidential matters is required.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in related field of Agriculture/Horticulture
Managerial Experience – Must be able to schedule all activities to maximize efficiency.
Experience in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing or Automation.
Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned equipment and machinery.
Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
Must be detail oriented.
Strong reading, writing and numeracy skills.
Must be able to carry out often repetitive tasks at a continuously high level of quality.
Willingness and flexibility to complete any task that may be required.
Experience in a post-harvest or inventory management environment preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience.

Security Clearance: Security Clearance may be requested for this position.

Working Hours:
Sunday to Saturday – 40-44 hours/week

Shift can be between 7:00 am – 7:00 pm with longer hours in evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:
Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of the Warehouse and Production Operations.
