Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Electrician Journeyperson/Lead hand to join our team. This role involves overseeing electrical systems, performing installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting within commercial/industrial/controls environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of electrical codes, BMS system integration, Mechanical room layout and experienced with mechanical equipment. This role typically works 4 ten hour days per week.
Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to execute installation and maintenance tasks.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, including low-voltage controls and power distribution.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Lead electrical projects involving renovation, construction, or upgrades of existing systems.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize automation processes.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Mentor junior electricians and assist in training new team members on best practices and safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics updates and system modifications.
Experience
- Proven experience as an controls/commercial electrician.
- Experienced with mechanical equipment (VAVs, AHUs, ERVs, Chillers, Generators, District energy).
- BMS System integration and functionality
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and control systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and troubleshooting techniques related to industrial systems. Pay: $42.00-$46.00 per hour
