Position Overview
We are hiring a full‑time Security Guard in Edmonton who is alert, responsible, and proactive. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe environment through active patrols, surveillance, and strong access‑control practices. Your presence and professionalism will help deter risks, prevent loss, and support a secure atmosphere for clients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor premises using CCTV and other surveillance systems to identify suspicious activity
- Control access by verifying employee, visitor, contractor, and vendor credentials
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry
- Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations
- Implement loss‑prevention strategies through observation and accurate reporting
- Maintain detailed daily logs, incident reports, and activity records
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and emergency responders when required
- Uphold Defron’s standards of professionalism, customer service, and safety at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields is an asset
- Strong understanding of CCTV systems, surveillance tools, and security protocols
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to identify risks and irregularities
- Ability to remain calm, confident, and composed during high‑pressure situations
- Clear and professional communication skills for reporting and client interaction
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods
- Valid Alberta Security Licence (or eligibility to obtain one)
