Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter/Decorator to join our team. This role involves applying paint, finishes, and decorative coatings to various surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction painting, restoration, and related trades, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Experience reading blueprints and schematics is preferred, along with proficiency using hand tools and power tools. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other methods
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications
- Perform restoration work on existing structures, including surface repairs and refinishing
- Operate hand tools such as scrapers, brushes, rollers, and power tools including drills and sanders
- Coordinate with carpentry teams for framing or structural adjustments as needed for painting projects
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project requirements are met on time
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, restoration, and industrial painting
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in painting and decorating tasks
- Skilled in caulking, carpentry basics, and the use of scaffolding or lifts when necessary
- Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines efficiently
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards client satisfaction
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to working at heights or with hazardous materials

Pay: $18.67-$34.65 per hour
