Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple custom millwork and store fixture projects from project award through to final installation and closeout
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, procurement plans and production timelines
- Review project requirements, drawings, specifications and customer expectations to identify project requirements and potential issues
- Coordinate closely with Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Finishing, Shipping and Installation teams
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve scheduling, production, material and installation issues
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and within approved budgets
- Identify required materials, hardware, components and subcontracted services; issue and monitor purchase orders and receiving dates
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure materials and services are delivered when required
- Review and manage project changes, revisions, RFIs, deficiencies and change orders
- Communicate regularly with clients, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors and subcontractors
- Lead project meetings and provide clear project updates, action items and follow-up
- Liaise with site personnel, clients, trades, shippers and installation teams to ensure successful execution of the project
- Monitor finished goods and material inventory levels and coordinate requirements with Purchasing and Production
- Ensure project documentation, drawings, approvals and correspondence are accurate and up to date
- Anticipate project risks and develop solutions to minimize delays and additional costs
- Ensure all project deliverables meet Forte Fixtures’ quality standards and customer expectations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to improving project management processes
- Mentor and support Project Managers and Project Coordinators as required
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within the custom millwork, architectural millwork, store fixture or construction industry
- Strong understanding of millwork manufacturing, production processes, materials and installation
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, planning and time-management skills
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong financial and budget management skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, shop drawings and project specifications
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors and internal teams
- Highly organized, proactive and accountable, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
- Professional and positive demeanour with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
- Experience managing commercial construction or retail rollout projects is an asset
- Must have reliable transportation
