Job Summary
The Counter Sales & Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with the purchase of parts, equipment, and rental products. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers, offering knowledgeable recommendations, processing sales transactions, coordinating rentals, and ensuring customers receive the products and support they need. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet customers in person and over the phone in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers in identifying and purchasing the correct parts, accessories, and equipment.
- Promote and sell whole goods, including outdoor power equipment and related products.
- Manage equipment rentals by explaining rental policies, preparing rental agreements, scheduling equipment, and inspecting equipment upon return.
- Provide accurate pricing, quotations, and product information.
- Process sales transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by receiving, stocking, and organizing parts and merchandise.
- Follow up on special orders and notify customers when products arrive.
- Coordinate with the service department regarding repairs, parts availability, and customer updates.
- Keep the showroom, parts counter, and rental area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Assist with merchandising, displays, and seasonal promotions.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and product knowledge.
- Stay current on product features, promotions, and manufacturer programs.
Experience
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and order fulfillment processes
- Strong communication skills, including negotiation and effective phone etiquette
- Knowledge of automotive repair, CMMS systems, or maintenance procedures is advantageous
- Experience with Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting tasks
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service experience emphasizing professionalism, patience, and problem-solving skills
Pay: $20.00-$23.98 per hour
