**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Marine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marine mechanics and possess expertise in using hand tools, mechanical knowledge, and power tools to maintain and repair marine vessels.
**Responsibilities:**
- Rigging, maintaining, and diagnosing problems with outboard motors (Yamaha and Tohatsu familiarity an asset)
- Rigging of inflatable boat packages from 6hp to 300hp
- Pulling cables and wires from engine to remote, gauges, GPS/Chart plotters, completing 12 volt wiring systems
- Competence with DC marine electrical systems and standards
- Able to improvise solutions to problems related to building and installing engines and boat hardware
- Experience working with fiberglass an asset
- Familiarity with marine Chart plotters/GPSes, stereos, an asset
- Communicate with customers about build options and work performed when necessary (Gauge options, GPS mount location, stereo installation)
- Forklift certification an asset
- Unloading boats from shipping containers
- Working with PVC/Hypalon glue, to repair inflatable tubes
- Boating license required along with competence operating pleasure craft for testing purposes
- Conduct inspections to ensure vessels meet safety standards and regulations
Compensation directly related to experience and quality of worksmanship performed.
**Requirements:**
- Proven experience as a Marine Technician or similar role
- Proficiency in using hand tools, mechanical knowledge, and power tools
- Strong understanding of marine systems, engines, and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
