Lumerate is growing rapidly, and we’re searching for a Senior Data Analyst to join us for the journey!
Who is Lumerate?
Lumerate is launching a (yet another!) new brand and we are looking for the first data role related to this team. Our mission at the company is to power informed industry conversations. We believe that the business world is a collection of complex information niches that end up with crummy software and information products because they aren’t mainstream enough for any one SaaS company to focus on. We believe the experts within those niches deserve purpose-built tools that accommodate the nuances of that niche and the things that an industry participant wants to achieve. We have positioned our bootstrapped company to successfully enter these underserved markets through leveraging our economies of scope. You will be leveraging those same economies in this role and helping bring a new brand to the world.
Who are you as an ideal candidate?
- You have experience in the early stages of biotech drug development either through working at a biotech or providing services to them.
- You are someone who has a rare combination of data curiosity and customer confidence. You know your way around Google Sheets and you also have interfaced with customers in a B2B setting.
- You hustle with customer requests, yet you are patient with internal resources and recognize that sometimes technology solutions don’t materialize overnight. In the meantime, your resourceful and can-do attitude finds ways around challenges - even if it sometimes means doing things in less glamorous and manual ways. From a Lumerate Guide to the Galaxy standpoint: You find joy in innovating.
- You are detail oriented, so you’ll notice this request to include the word located at these coordinates 43.63565745335677, -79.43972483985826 in your cover letter
- You get fired up by doing a variety of different things in a day, and you’re able to juggle many simultaneous priorities.
- You love hunting for info and discovering new data sources
Here are some of the things you can expect to be doing in this role
As an insights builder you will
- Work with biotech entrepreneurs to help them understand and engage with the world around them.
- Wrangle unstructured data into structured reports and summaries that turn information into actionable knowledge.
As a data guru you will
- Work on fulfilling custom requests from biotech companies about their competitive landscape and their partner environment
- Oversee the incorporation of data into intelligence solutions for biotech entrepreneurs and leadership teams
- Identifying new data sources that help Lumerate’s life science users
- Keep abreast of all the latest LLM tools being rolled out across Lumerate and incorporate them into your day-to-day workflow.
As a collaborator you will
- Be part of the founding team on a new brand.
- This team will have significant autonomy, and you’ll work on solving customer problems with the rest of Lumerate backing you from a financial, technical and mentorship perspective.
Why Lumerate? Fancy perks etc.
- Help shape the future of a bootstrapped and profitable Canadian tech company
- Be a part of a tightly-knit team with a thriving hybrid culture
- Three weeks paid vacation + paid statutory holidays
- Join us for our annual all-company retreat (past destinations include Iceland, Costa Rica, Portugal and Dominican Republic)
- Earn additional paid vacation days with continued learning ($1000 annual stipend for courses and classes)

Location: The successful candidate will be hybrid–working from our Toronto office on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
Salary: $85K- $105K
Start Date: November 25, 2024
