TAG Hardware designs, engineers, and manufactures products for the closet and modular furniture industry. Our 70,000 square foot brand new manufacturing plant is located in South Surrey, British Columbia. About the Role - Job Description
We are looking for a quality professional with strong organizational and communication skills. The main goal of this position is to maintain operational day to day efficiency for all quality related activities, keeping response times short and loops closed among the different functional areas.
As our Operations Quality Coordinator you will bring a keen quality presence to our staff being an approachable resource to funnel questions and concerns ensuring effective resolution. You will maintain uniformity and consistency in our training systems, promoting a continuous learning and growth culture.
Responsibilities
Customer Satisfaction:

Review customer complaints database assigning responsibility, internal actions and understanding root cause for future prevention.

Perform inspection and sorting of product as required, ship replacements to customers, coordinate S/O and transactions with customer service.

Regularly meet with production to explain and review customer complaints/rejections.

Work with Team Leads to implement corrective actions and regularly review progress.
Supplier Standards:
-
Maintain database of supplier corrective actions.
-
Perform physical inspections, summarizing results and completing related system transactions.

Log and inspect batch approvals (product accepted under deviation)
-
Coordinate In-line inspections log – Collect data, review scrap details and perform system adjustments.
-
Implement and track temporary operations for usable stock
-
Incoming/Inward inspections - Coordinate inspections and log results using measuring devices (like calipers), go/no-go gages and golden samples as inspection tools.
-
Provide assistance to develop a receiving process for North American/local suppliers. Coordinate product inspection. Provide feedback for improvement on shipments, prevent damages.

Assistance for data collection to support KPIs.
Production Staff Support:
-
Training of new staff - Develop instructions, document procedures, maintain training matrix
-
Work with QC Technicians to inspect non-conforming material, define inspection steps
-
Implementation of corrective actions, preventive steps, monitor validation tasks
-
Training and implementation of Quality and Inspection documents for assembled items. Ensure new findings are added on training plans for new personnel.

Track implementation of engineering changes (raw material change overs, packaging/handling changes, new tools or jigs), make sure that staff is trained accordingly
-
Maintenance of the tool matrix and calibration schedule. Perform frequent audits for tools to be used in the correct settings.

Work with Quality Engineer to train production staff about new products
-
Ensure workstation is updated with new product information (assembly visuals, jigs, fixtures, etc.)

Prepare and inspect sample shipments for suppliers (reference samples, jigs)

Assist with implementation of safety actions

Assist with other operation tasks and actions allocated by Operations Manager
Education and Experience
-
Undergraduate degree in related field, engineering will be considered an asset
-
At least 2 years of experience in an operational environment required

Risk analysis and strategic thinking
-
Strong computer skills and analytical ability

Asks inclusive and insightful questions. Has curiosity to learn how things are made

Manufacturing knowledge on extruded/anodized aluminum and/or zinc die-casting will be considered an asset

Self-starter, proactive and able to work independently
-
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
-
Must be high-performance team player and be willing to work in a dynamic, growing, demanding and fast-paced environment

Preferred knowledge and experience in quality inspection of painted and powder coated surfaces
-
Experience in supervision and inter-departmental coordination will be considered an asset
