Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac equipment safely and efficiently, supporting various construction projects. This role requires mechanical aptitude, experience with heavy equipment, and a strong commitment to safety standards. The Hydrovac Operator plays a vital role in ensuring project success through precise excavation and equipment handling.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks for excavation tasks in construction, paving, and utility projects
- Perform site assessments to determine safe excavation procedures
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on hydrovac units and associated machinery
- Support the setup and breakdown of work zones, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and equipment usage
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to hydraulic systems and equipment maintenance
- Prior experience with hydrovac operations required
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
- Skills in horizontal drilling, paving, or other specialized construction techniques are advantageous
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
